That fucking pain in the ass of an Aperture just fucked up on me. I think it’s corrupted most of my files from yesterday, which I must say were bloody fantabulous, especially the pictures of the bands during the later part of the gig. So I’m just praying to God that everything turns out fine, please Lord, let it be alright. There’s this picture of Field that was so in the moment and the backlight hit him so nicely, but it’s corrupted and truncated. And it was the image that I wanted to post up so damn badly. Cheeeeeeeebye. So we’ll have to settle for the frame right before it.
I’m supposed to keep myself from swearing but at moments like these I’m just so tired. And Aperture refuses to keep open for just a minute so I can export my files. It keeps shutting down without a reason whatsover. Sorry, no cookie for guessing how damn depressed I am at this moment. All I can think of right now is bringing my CF cards to work to get Amin to retrieve the images directly from them for me. I hope its going to be alright. Pray for me people, thank you very much.
Photography will be the death of me. Just like it was Wu Xiao Kang, who repeatedly shot the exact same shots of abandoned buildings on 35 rolls of film over a period of 2 years. The cropping of the images were supposedly exactly symmetrical when multiple images were compared, even though they were shot over a period of time in different conditions. He commited suicide after his last roll.
The plan is to create the perfect roll of photographs, each roll of film must not have only one “good” picture but all 36 images should be perfect. That is the plan…
That is indeed the plan. I’m in a fucked up mood right now.
hi, my name is pete tsai.
but you aren’t pete tsai. me no understand you.

cheyyyyy. got meh?
no la. i’m having massive insomnia. its inducing randomness. but imagine this: stereotypical chinese-american convenience store clerk-looking fella with stereotypical hongkee accent goes, “HI, MY NAME IS PETE TSAI! NICE TO MEET CHIU.” okay, never mind.
Hi! I was at Rock for Wayne too. Sorry to hear about your file corruption. Thats about the worse that can happen to a photographer. I have a software that can retrieve files from a memory card. Drop me a p.m. at http://www.myspace.com/amaka24 (i believe you have myspace) if you want the programme. Cheers!

Hello aMaKa,
thanks for your comment
yes it is the worst thing that could happen, truly. perhaps other than dropping your camera and shattering an expensive lens, or losing your camera entirely
I was able to get it recovered though, but some of the files were corrupted still. but it’s ok. thank you so much for the offer!
see you around…
Ahh thats great! Atleast all is not lost. Damage to camera equipment or even losing them can still be repaired or bought back, but moments lost can never be recaptured. Sorry if this is cliche, but thats the only truth
. By the way, I got to know of your blog from Mark (unpopular radio) few days before RFW. He said yor shots are great and I believe so too! Will you be uploading the RFW pics soon? Will ove to see them…

Thank you for the compliment! I don’t know who Mark is, but it’s cool that he reads this. Seems like this place has developed a certain lurking anonymous readership. haha. Yes, will put them up soon, after I get all my work done. Too much work, too little time…
oh wait! i do know who mark is!!!!
Hihi! Haha. Now you know who Mark is, he would have been very sad if you don’t. Its thanks to ppl like him doing PR for you that anonymous readers start popping up.
I only see one pic you shot from RFW and I’m amazed. Please don’t hide the rest! I took few pics of you shooting and singing on stage too. Links are http://www.amaka.multiply.com/photos/photo/81/48 and http://www.amaka.multiply.com/photos/photo/81/112.
Cya at future shows!
